nightmare in Taipei

It was the second time in two weeks that I dreamt of visiting Taipei – I really wonder why! – though this second dream that I had last night was infinitely more disturbing than the first one.

The dream began innocently enough – I was jalan-ing in some marketplace with a couple of friends, and we were disappointed that the items on sale were so limited. So some of us decided to go explore some mysterious building, where the more we walked around, the more dilapidated it looked. We came to an entrance to an old theater, one that was no longer in use, and there at the entrance were a few shaggy, creepy looking people (who frankly, resembled the dead more than the living, eeks), who attempted to stop us from entering. One of my friends just decided to sneak in (roars), and the rest followed. When we got inside, we saw more of those creepy people, and they started to chase us out.

Suddenly, silence fell over the place. The creepy “people” around me looked at me with annoyed faces and one of them whispered, “Look what you’ve done! Don’t breathe!” And I was OMFG when I saw this freaky frightening evil spirit float into the room and started attacking my friend who was making a ruckus. It felt like hell. Somehow, two of my friends and I escaped unscathed, but we had to keep pretending to be non-living while that meano spirit was still hanging around.

We lived in fear of being discovered, for quite some time, then I woke up before anything bad happened. I think I probably willed myself to wake up.

Haha, what an anti-climatic end to my dream. Though I have to say I feel better after writing it down. I was actually quite disturbed in the morning, wondering why on earth I would have such perturbed dreams. Now that it’s in print it just looks ridiculously funny, and that’s great!
